With plenty of great walks, cycling routes and wild swimming destinations all from the tent pitch, Kestrel Lodge Campsite is a great base for your next adventure in the northern fells of the Lake District.

Skiddaw from
the tent
At the foot of Skiddaw, one of the highest peaks in England, you can walk straight from the tent flap to the summit. The Back O'Skiddaw range is also popular for lots of other Wainwright walks.
Whinlatter Forest
If you like your mountain biking Whinlatter has some great routes, from challenging descents to family friendly trails. There is even a Go Ape Tree Top Adventure, or Segway Experience.

We're right on the Cumbria Way, a long distance (70 mile) walk from Ulverston to Carslise passing through, Coniston, Langdales and Keswick.

The popular town of Keswick and Derwent Water are only a short drive away. Keswick is full of great shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There is even a Theatre by the Lake, cinema, museums and parks so you can make a full day out of a visit there.
