How it all began
Kestrel Lodge Campsite started out life as a working 18th century farm. Since then it’s been, a bunkhouse, a youth hostel, a retreat for local school children, and an outward bounds centre.
In 2015, Louise, Andrea, Sue and Dave transformed the place again to become a beautiful campsite and family home. Since then its been running as a small, quiet, friendly and traditional campsite that offers great adventures from the doorstep, a campfire in the evening and nearby pub for that well deserved pint!
Meet the new team!
Hello, it's lovely to meet you! We are Cassy and Charlie, and we are the very proud and excited new owners of Kestrel Lodge Campsite! (not forgetting our two dogs; Pip and Fluke)

A little bit about us... we met each other whilst at the University of Cumbria in Ambleside (many years ago!). We then started our life together in the Peak District where Charlie grew up, where we ran Fieldhead Campsite, a beautiful campsite in Edale. Like Kestrel Lodge Campsite, this was a small, quiet site offering good quality basic camping. The site itself was owned by the National Park Authority, and although we loved running this site and met some amazing people there, we were ready for another adventure of our own and in perfect timing along came Kestrel Lodge Campsite!
We're both huge lovers of the outdoors, from camping, walking, cycling, canoeing, wild swimming and even paragliding. We're passionate about creating a quiet, friendly place that you can relax in after having a great adventure and we hope you that you enjoy that same atmosphere here when you stay with us.
