Cycling and Mountain Biking
(More coming soon! But here's a few, there are so many to explore!)
Whinlatter Forest
The perfect place for biking with routes for everyone, from moderate trails for those with basic off road skills to the more challenging red and black routes for those more experienced.

Skiddaw
Yes if you are feeling energetic you can cycle to the very top of Skiddaw summit! The Cumbria Way from the campsite takes you up to Dash Falls over to Skiddaw House, round Lonscale Fell (where you can then pop up to Skiddaw!) and back via Dodd Wood. An epic 20 mile ride with some decent climbs and downhills, Skiddaw is after all the fourth highest mountain in England!
Reiver's cycle route
An epic 170 mile journey from the coast to coast route from Cumbria to Northumberland, described by many as challenging and remote. There is an all road version and an off road route too, depending on which terrain you prefer.
See a map here of the route. Hardcopy maps and guidebooks are available to buy from Sustrans or find out more information here.
