Pip's favourite pub walks
(all our pub walks are muddy boots and dog friendly)
These are just a few of some of our favourite pub walks around the Lake District, because you deserve a reward of a drink or a bite to eat after your walk! They're in no particular order, so have a nosey and see where you fancy exploring...

The sun inn, Bassenthwaite. 1 mile form Kestrel Lodge Campsite
Of course this has to be on here! It's our favourite local pub. Only 1 mile from the campsite, so if you need a quick walk with the dog after a long drive, or you've done your days walk and just need that hearty hot meal before you settle down at the campsite, then The Sun is place! Always a warm welcome, roaring fire in the winter, good food and of course dog friendly (with a dog menu too!). Please remember to book as it can get busy.
Castle INN 2 miles form Kestrel Lodge Campsite
Although a Spa Hotel, The Castle Inn also has a bar area open to non residents. There is a lovely walk there via Park Wood, Bassenfell Manor and then the final stretch on the road. A good walk if you want something a little further than just the village, there are stunning views on route and why not break the journey back to the campsite up and stop off at The Sun too!
